Coming soon Alley baby #3!

So some of you may know and some may not, we wanted to wait till we were past the 22 week mark. So I am now and we found out the sex of our baby. We are excited since this baby and Jacob will be the same season. The boys are VERY excited, and I can't believe they've managed to keep it a secret for 5 and 1/2 months too! I'm proud of them and they can't wait to meet their...baby. Jacob wanted a sister and Mason wanted a brother!

I'm just grateful to know that so far our baby seems to be healthy and growing at the right rate. I'm gestational again so that is one of the concerns about baby being too big. Both Jacob & Mason were 8lbs.

Is it driving you crazy that I haven't said one way or the other yet? lol This is fun! Apparently Gary doesn't make the Y chromosome. Does that help? The tech was unable to see but the doctor came in and right away said, you are having a... But can I say we NEVER saw anything.
So in case you can't read this its from my cell phone but that arrow is pointing at HIS, well you can guess. That's right we are having another boy! The doctor told me I'm gonna need to go get a female pet or something so I wouldn't be surrounded by boys!

Hopefully by October we will have picked a name! Any suggestions?

Having fun at the mall

I had a few errands to run the other day and wanted the boys to be able to run off some energy so maybe they'd let me take a nap. Wishful thinking I'd like to say but they had a blast and Mason yet again hurt his foot. But before that they were having a great time even leading the other kids around.

Bowling fun

This is the 2nd game and yes I wanted to bowl one ball so I did Mason's first one. So this is how the score looked for the first half.

Jacob was really getting the hang of it and LOVING it too! Both boys had a great time and I really enjoyed watching them bowl even if sometimes one frame took 2 minutes. They cracked me up throwing the ball or trying to bounce it down the lane. I was worried someone was gonna come and say something to us a few times but hey this is only their second time bowling in their lives. This summer we'll be bowling quite a bit since they have free bowling till the end of August. So I'm hoping it will become a little smoother. Hey you can even come with us if you want! Playing with friends

I thought while Jacob was at camp Mason should have a play date too. I'm sure he was tired of staring at my face all day. So we headed over to the mall to play with some friends. He deserved a fun outing since he has been so patient with me while I've been so tired lately.

After our friends left we decided to play a little bit longer.

Scout Day Camp

This week is Scout camp for Jacob and he has LOVED it! Gary and I(more me I guess) were worried about his first day. This would be the first time we'd ever dropped him off at something/anything. I have to admit after leaving him Monday morning in the rain I shed a few tears, and was a bit nervous too. Have we taught him about not taking to strangers, would he stay with his "buddy", would he get lost? So many questions and not enough answers for my taste. After going back an hour early to check on my "baby" I found out of course that he hadn't once thought about us and was having a blast. How glad I was to see him having a great time! I could actually breath a sigh of relief.

Today Gary went with him as a chaperon and at least it wasn't rainy or 100 degrees. According to Jacob they walked 1500 hours, I'm sure after 2 days of trekking all over the park it may feel like that. They do a few things every day and a couple that are different every day. Fishing, archery, BB guns, crafts and one other thing I can't remember of course. He loves archery this year and finally got a chance to fish too, today he somehow caught a turtle. Don't worry they helped him and put the little guy back in the pond. He also tried the BB gun today and aside from pointing it down range a few times he did it. He didn't hit the target but at least he tried, Gary also got to shoot and was so happy to show Mason and I his target that he'd hit mainly in the middle. Jacob still needs a little help with the bow but hey what's practice for?!

Its time to go make him some lunch for tomorrow so enjoy the few pictures that Gary did take(thanks honey!). I know Jacob loved having his dad with him. Here's to 3 more great days for all the boys!

Lunch with Jacob

Having lunch the last full day of school with Jacob. They get to pick one child to come with them over to the "visitors table" and this time Jacob chose Jervonte. What a polite kid, everything was "yes ma'am and no ma'am". Hope Jacob was surprised that we came back to have lunch with him.

Jacob's moving on to the 3rd grade

Can I just ask when did we move to the rainforest?!?! How is it only the 10th day of June and it already feels like you are in a sauna when you go outside at 8 in the morning?! That being said today was Jacob's "moving on" program. He is going to the 3rd grade, something I'm sure you know already from the title. But we are just so proud of him I had to say it twice. He has had a really good teacher again this year, Ms Ahlberg(thats her in the blue shirt). He was also very lucky to have 2 other kids from church in his class this year too, Seth Orr and Tessa Rich.

This morning at 8:20(already sauna weather) Mason and I show up to find this teeny tiny parking lot full except for the grass. And since I drive a car that's kind of low to the ground I'm not about to drive up on the curb and scrap my car up. Plus I didn't want to walk extremely far because I have a stress fracture on my right foot and I'm trying to take it easy. So we made our own parking place close to the back of the school where we had to be. We got there in time to see Jacob and the rest of the 2nd grade walk out and take their place. We then went down and stood right by Jacob. For some reason Mason didn't want to sit on the blanket I'd brought. Which I'm kinda grateful because then we were able to leave right after it finished without having to fold up this huge thing. As we stood and watched the program, Mason realized that there were other kids off playing on the playground and he ventured off to do that. Which was great because the whole back of the school is fenced in and I could see him the whole time. So he got to play with kids his own age rather than sit/stand for an 30 minutes staring at Jacob. What can I say he loves his brother but he "just not that into him."

This year is the school's 10th year of being open, it was built in 1999. So the 2nd graders sang/danced to "You say its your birthday." I had to video it, Jacob was excited because the boys were supposed to pretend they were playing guitars. Excuse my videoing but some man decided to walk right in front of the other parents and I to take a picture of his kid, hello have you heard of SQUATTING?! So thanks Mr I don't know for being in my video!(ooh I'm a poet!)

We love you Jacob and are very proud of the hard work you've done this year and how much you've grown! Here is to a new school year and lots more to learn in the 3rd grade. But for now SUMMER!


Also they did the symbolic thing where they moved all the "flags" that said their grade to the next grade. So here is Jacob and the rest of the 2nd graders "moving up a grade".

Swimming for Memorial Day

I'd like to say I took more pictures than the one or 2 I'm about to show you but I was in the pool and Gary took these. So by the time I got out it was time to eat and then I was freezing so I didn't do much but stay under 2 blankets till we left. But we celebrated a few days early because it was my sister's 27th birthday. My mom & her husband tried to do a surprise party for her but she found out when she read the text messages on his phone from my mom.

We had a lot of fun and the boys thank goodness LOVE the water like I do. They never want to get out, I'm hoping to retry swim lessons for Jacob and try some this summer for Mason too. They both want to swim SO bad and Jacob is VERY close to doing it on his own! Way to go Jacob!

I'm sure there will be more pool pictures later and next time you'll get to see their faces. Summer here we come!
